It is the
dream of every individual who gain admission into the tertiary institution to
get a reputable job after completion. You strive hard all in the name of getting
good grades, pay huge fee and then at the long round, you finish your service
then you write numerous of application no reply so you get stack. All in the
name of inexperience, the economy is bad etc.
In school (SHS),
you will get people who did not get good grades, you will pass through the
tertiary system three - four years, and you will come and meet these people very
rich. With a skill, their setups, backed with capital. You will find them with
their happy family (wife, husband, kids). You as the learned person, you
will complete your service and will come to square one.
If we want the
youth (students) to still have the will to pursue education, which we almost always say is our future, then, the system should not make students weak and
frustrated. If there cannot be an automatic employment, then an extracurricular
will be necessary for the students. It will end them up with an idea, and then
we back them with capital. Stake holders should not sit unconcerned.
Remember, we
are in the information age. And if we don’t want these institutions to be
irrelevant, something must be done in line to my suggestion. It doesn’t make
sense, I am awarded with good grades, and I further my education, I come to
meet colleagues who failed making it big time and I come to square one. You
become laughing stock, no one respects you. If this is the case, is obvious
every student will begin to think twice and if that happens …….
A word to
the wise ….
