Where is the Love?

Let’s talk about valentine. I believe is fading out gradually. The season is not necessarily to enjoy with love ones. But rather it must be an action time when we strengthen and review the love pattern we hold. Our love can never be perfect until we connect with Jesus’ love. Most people will seize every occasion to chill. Love (valentine) is not colours, is not food is living for others through love. Correcting people through love and more importantly living the action (Praxis) of the Gospel. Before I rest the case I will like you to ponder on the song ‘where is the love ‘by Black eye peas. If indeed we have even a little love let’s look around us how we are treating each other. It looks like we are in a jungle where the strongest survive. Today people are going to use their money to destroy lives. Rape, accidents and the likes. To conclude, life is not about you is about us. Connecting it with the creator in a more harmonious way.

Numbers in Revelation

Numbers in Revelation Mark W. Wilson Numbers play an important literary and structural role in Revelation. Whether the numbers are to be interpreted literally or symbolically is a much-debated hermeneutical problem. The meaning of some numbers is interpreted. For example, in 1:20 the seven stars and seven golden lamp stands are identified as seven angels and seven churches. However, most numbers are not interpreted. Revelation’s numerology draws on ancient Jewish cosmology in the Old Testament. The numbers four, seven, twelve, and their multiples have particular significance.  Four stands for cosmic completeness, and is the number of living creatures around the throne. Four angels restrain the four winds in the four corners of the earth from prematurely harming the earth before the saints can be sealed. Seven is the most frequently used number and symbolizes perfection and completeness. The Holy Spirit is repeatedly called the “seven spirits” or “sevenfold Spirit.” Seven...

Ways of Interpreting Revelation

Ways of Interpreting Revelation  There are five main theories about how Revelation should be interpreted : preterist, historicist, futurist, idealist, and eclectic. The preterist theory views Revelation as relating only to the time in which John lived rather than to any future period. John communicates to first-century readers how God plans to deliver them from the wickedness of the Roman Empire.  The historicist theory argues that Revelation gives an overview of the major movements of church history from the first century until the return of Christ. The futurist theory claims that most of Revelation (usually chapters 4—22) deals with a future time just before the end of history. The idealist theory maintains that Revelation is a symbolic portrayal of the ongoing conflict between good and evil.  Revelation offers timeless spiritual truths to encourage Christians of all ages. The eclectic theory combines the strengths of several of the other theories (e.g., a...

Angels and Demons

Angels and Demons William W. Klein Angels and demons constitute an order of celestial spirit beings created by God to serve God. The Greek word aggelos and the corresponding Hebrew term mal’ak mean “messenger,” though their tasks are broader than that. They represent God and the celestial world to his creation. As spirit beings they can navigate between the heavenly and earthly realms, even appearing in human format times (Gen. 19:1—2; Judg. 13:15—21; Acts 12:7—il). The Bible divides angels into two groups: “good angels” and “bad angels.” Created with free will, angels decided whether to serve God faithfully or to rebel. The faithful angels, called “holy angels” or “angels of God” (or “of the Lord”), also have titles such as “heavenly beings,”“holy ones,” or “hosts.” The Bible names only two, the archangel Michael (Dan. 10:13, 21; Jude 9; Rev. 12:7—8) and Gabriel (Dan. 8:16; 9:21; Luke 1:19, 26). Angels function chiefly as God’s messengers in the Old Testament (Gen. 16:7—12;...
